George Meyer

George is a self taught artist whose art appears in many private collections around South Africa.

He paints mainly in acrylics and has perfected the technique of using an angle grinder to carve on to board before applying paint. He also paints on canvas. His pencil sketches of people, on paper, are charming as he captures their essence so well.

George has exhibited in many exhibitions and was honoured to appear on a Woolworths bag, as did Solomon Siko, when Woolworths were promoting the art of up and coming artists in the late 1990's.

George loves to portray the people and places around him and his art is bright and colourful.

George has hosted many painting workshops and has exhibited with Bay Gallery since 2004.
