Bay Gallery - How it all began ! November 06 2020

Bay Gallery opened its doors initially at Club Mykonos, Langebaan in 1998. Moved to Marra Square in 2006, and opened at Home in 2020. One may also shop online from the website.

Initially, Bay Gallery was affiliated with the West Coast Art Guild, but broke ties on the move to Marra Square in 2006.

I joined the West Coast Art Guild on our arrival on the West Coast, from Hout Bay, in 1992.

My love for Art has been a passion for most of my life as well as literature and Archaeology. I love to paint and have taken many courses over the years since studying Art and Art History at School. I completed my B.A. Degree in Archaeology and Ancient Near Eastern Studies in 2010 and have been on many excavations both locally and in Greece.

I have known most of Bay Gallery's artists since the beginning and many have become friends as well. I like to know the artists who exhibit their work in Bay Gallery and appreciate their different techniques, styles and media used.

It would be wonderful to continue for as long as possible, despite Covid, and am looking forward to having a Pop Up Exhibition once again in Marra Square from 15th December, 2020 to end January, 2021.

I would not have been able to have done all this without the love and support of my husband, Peter, and our two sons, Christopher and Jason.

In the meantime you may either view the artwork available on my website, Instagram or Facebook and if you would care to see the artwork please phone or Whatsapp: 0733048744.

I will be featuring a Bay Gallery artist daily, so watch this space! 🤗

Thanks, Daphne
